Manufacturing Toolkit 2025.7: MTK Workbench initial release, PDF import for 2D curves, new DFM checks, and performance improvements

CADEXSOFT announces the release of Manufacturing Toolkit 2025.7 — a CAD SDK for developers building quoting, DFM, and MaaS platforms. Major features: - MTK Workbench initial release; - PDF import for 2D curves; - Updated MTK Converter API; - New DFM checks.

MTK Workbench initial release

MTK 2025.7 introduces MTK Workbench - a desktop application for viewing, testing, and deeply analyzing MTK workflows before full integration into custom applications. It supports import and export of all MTK-compatible file formats, with an integrated 3D/2D viewer offering navigation tools, a model tree, and property inspection.

Core MTK capabilities such as Feature Recognition, DFM Analysis, Unfolding, and other workflows are available directly within the Workbench. Users can switch between wireframe and shaded visualization modes, and choose from multiple selection types, including solid, face, wire, edge, and vertex, for precise interaction with models.

PDF import for 2D curves

The new MTK release expands support for working with 2D drawings. While the previous version introduced the ability to export 2D curves to DXF, now users can also import 2D curve geometry from PDF.

MTK Converter updates

MTK Converter has been enhanced with a Utilities::JSONSerializer API that simplifies the generation of JSON reports for features and DFM issues, ensuring consistent performance across C++, C#, Java, and Python.

Multi-body support has been added, updating the JSON structure to include processing results for all bodies in complex parts.

New DFM checks

New sheet metal DFM checks now include cutouts that are too narrow for proper cutting, helping to avoid incomplete cutting and dimensional inaccuracies. Another check identifies excessive countersink depths that may deform the opposite face and weaken the surrounding material.

For CNC machining, the new undercut issue check detects recessed or overhanging regions inaccessible to standard tools, so designers can anticipate requirements for multi-axis machining, part reorientation, or post-processing to improve manufacturability.

Drawing API and visual style updates in Web

In the new release, the Drawing API has been introduced, allowing to import drawings from the .mtkweb format. Also, 3D visual style enhancements include improved rendering of translucent materials and wireframe objects, updated default lighting, and added model shadows, along with a new default physical material for model rendering.
